What happened

Fourth and QSR Magazine surveyed 112 restaurant leaders. Respondents could select multiple desired use cases: labor optimization led at 51%, followed by labor forecasting at 47%, inventory forecasting at 46%, sales forecasting at 44%, and waste detection at 43%. The vendor-developed survey is a directional demand signal, not proof of ROI.

Why it matters to the channel

The priorities share data and operating dependencies. Treating each as an isolated AI purchase can create duplicate forecasts and conflicting systems. The channel can add more value by helping operators establish a trusted demand signal, item structure, labor baseline, and ownership model that support several decisions.

The next move

Choose one costly decision first, record its current forecast error and manager time, then test one workflow against that baseline before expanding the same data foundation to another use case.
